Progress Update | 17/01/2022

Hello there you wonderful and very wholesome people out in the world!

Another week, another progress update!

Yesterday I was able to release Beta 3 for My New Family 0.22 which means I'm now halfway done with the update. So far the feedback has been pretty good on the things I've been doing and I really hope you guys will think the same once the final version comes out!

I still have to do a few side girl events that finally brings the MC closer to some of them. He has some sort of date on the third day but they don't get that much closer there...That is something I definitely want to do for the next three ingame days, though! And of course I have a little lewd surprise planned as well.

Now I want to talk about something that I said last week regarding a decision you will have to make in the next My New Memories chapter. I got a few messages from people that were worried it would be a "live or die" situation. No, it's nothing like that. But it will be a decision that will define your future path in the game more than it might seem. It's pretty simple, actually: If you make the "right" decision then your path to deal with the situation regarding Anna will continue, with the help of your family. If you make the "wrong" decision you will fall back to the behaviour that is not really the MC - the one where he wants to do things alone, even though he has people that care for him. The consequences will be pretty big, something I haven't really done in a game yet. It will be more than just "missing content" if you make the "wrong" decision, I guess. That's all I'm going to say to this for now. You will understand what I mean once you play it! Todays render is just Sabrina lounging around!

And I think thats it for this week, at least in terms of the games. There are some more personal things that will happen this week for me but I'll put these in a separate post if they end up affecting work. There will be a teaser post this week as well with some renders for My New Family 0.22, so stay stuned for that!  And of course, stay awesome!

I just realised something about My New Family that seems odd now I think of it: nobody seems to get mildly ill at all . Ida strained her back a little, Melissa has a scar, and MC got knocked out by an enthusiastic Maddy... and that's it. Does everyone have enough vitamins or something?

I think it'd be a good plot point if the MC got ... food poisoning, let's say, that knocked him out bad enough to need a hospital. While he's out of it, all his ladies rally round and, in some cases, meet for the first time. I know it's being told from the MC's point of view, but it'd be a nice change of pace to see things going on from Lucy's POV - or Fiona.

Anyhow, it's not my story to tell, and I'm enjoying your output immensely in any case. As you were.  ;-)

If I am guessing right, then this monumental decision will be to decide whether to keep her life support on, and eventually she wakes up, or turn off life support at some point and let her go? The letting her go, will probably be the end of the MC in terms of him doing things alone which would obviously be the wrong choice. Maybe I am entirely wrong, but I worry for Anna because the longer she is under, the higher chance she could end up with some kind of brain damage.  Some thoughts about a coma is that the brain is trying to rewire itself for some reason or other, and the longer it takes the more neurons die and ive even heard brain tissue can die too if the coma is a long time.

I hope she doesn't have amnesia when she wakes up that would be a really cruel nasty mess for her to be in and the for the players too, please don't do that, even if it is the further the story, we already care about these fledgling characters.

My guess is the decision is more on what to do with the pregnancy.

Probably whether to keep it and raise w/ support of family even though wife is in coma (possibly risking wife's life), or decide can't raise  on own/abort to keep mom safer.  But, to many that would still be considered a live or die decision.  ( I *suspect* though by saying it isn't live or die, Killer7 is saying it's precisely NOT what you are suggesting.  Not that it isn't about aborting/not aborting the pregnancy.)

Having MNF and MNM in the same update is sometimes confusing, I agree!  :P
